"OBLIVION" 2.83ct TRULY ONE-OF-KIND, BICOLORED MONTANA SAPPHIRE

12,000.00

Welcome to the “Staghead Mine”! The mine is home to our hand-selected collection of ethically sourced, extremely unique and rare gemstones. These stones were curated because they cannot be found anywhere else and possess outstanding qualities that deserve to be highlighted by truly custom rings!

Start with your stone! Purchasing a one-of-a-kind stone from the mine will reserve that stone, allowing you to design the ring of your dreams around a once-in-a-lifetime stone and create a truly meaningful symbol of your love!

Shortly after purchasing, you will be emailed by Jen, our custom ring designer, to get started on the design of your dream ring. Once you have finalized your design with Jen, please note that custom commissioned rings always have the possibility of taking longer than our standard 8 week lead time as designing a new ring takes time and extra care to ensure we can make the ring you have envisioned come to life.

This 2.83ct sapphire measures 7.3mm x 5.5mm. It was mined in Rock Creek, Montana and is a quite a vision to behold. This stone is so unique that the mine and stone cutter published it in a book of their most impressive finding! This truly exceptional stone has been heat treated to bring out its brilliant yellow colors and enhance its clarity and presents a rare and unique blue stripe down the middle. It is quite possible that no stone will ever again posses a color combination quite like this! It is a true gift from mother nature!

This stone is photographed in professional studio lighting that mimics natural sunlight of 5500 degrees kelvin and videoed outdoors in natural sunlight.

As people become more aware of how common and generally unethical diamonds are, the desire for more unique stones to represent individuality are becoming increasingly popular. This desire will eventually lead to the value of sapphires exceeding diamonds.

In the past it was believed that the purest blue was the best color option. Over time as the desire for natural sapphires grows, so does the demand for the wide arrangement of muted shades of blue.

For care and cleaning we strongly recommend using soapy water and a soft brush as the most trustworthy way to clean your sapphire jewelry. Ultrasonic and Steam cleaners are usually safe options as well.

This sapphire has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs’ scale. The Mohs’ scale is a system used to grade the hardness of minerals ranging from 1-10. For reference, diamonds are rated 10 on the Mohs’ scale, as they are the hardest mineral and can only be scratched by other diamonds. Talc has a rating of 1 on the Mohs’ scale and can be easily scratched and crushed.
